Perched on the river bank, he stared into the crimson sky<\/p>\n

Forehead lined with chalky beads of endearment<\/p>\n

With a child curving to the spine, gently asleep<\/p>\n

Rush of smoke dissipate into the suffocating river<\/p>\n

Where to go, I say? To the left, no<\/p>\n

Way to go. To the right, no<\/p>\n

Point of return.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

As the spirit has long gone, tumbling like dry flecks of dandelions<\/p>\n

Taking shape of the loved ones that no one would care to remember<\/p>\n

Just names with no glory just pregnant with love and sacrifice<\/p>\n

I saw her head shaking, nodding as he left his body<\/p>\n

I wasn\u2019t sure if it\u2019s really a nod, it may even be a weep<\/p>\n

It\u2019s too hard to tell with the noiseless clamor<\/p>\n

The woman lulled the child with dying voice<\/p>\n

Gentle fingers brushing away dry tears<\/p>\n

Thinking of the ones who left and the ones who might<\/p>\n

The beacon shone with cherry blaze heat and the crisp July breeze<\/p>\n

Embraced them in silence as the deafening bombs took over their lives<\/p>\n

The land where home lies is now deserted mankind<\/p>\n

Her mind wanders and wanders until she lies sobbing in her child arms.<\/p>\n
