Last Friday, I was invited by Astro Awani for a 30-minute interview on Analisis Awani, a talk show that discusses the current issues pertaining to local and global affairs. I shared my experience attending Global Education & Skills Forum in Dubai recently and discusses the issues, ideas and future trends of global education landscape. Honestly, I was a bit anxious as there was no script whatsoever and the questions were prompted as the interview was recorded so whatever that came from my mind was spontaneous and I had to be quick on my wit and responses. I shared my views on MOOCs from the perspective of a doctoral researcher, as well as my experience being a teacher and edu tech practitioner.
The topic of my slot is “Mengharmonikan teknologi dan pendidikan” which means Harmonizing technology and education. I feel the topic was apt and close to my heart as I believe technology is catalytic in scaffolding engaging teaching and learning experience. It’s about time we highlight how teachers and educators worldwide have been fervently using technological tools in their lessons. I think it’s no more the issue of lack of technological tools but the abundance and information overload issue amongst netizens. Hence, it is pertinent that knowledge management skills are enforced in schools to ensure the students and teachers are able to manage the ubiquitous technology to their advantages.
On air. Thanks Nazri Kahar for compering such engaging discussion.
